Post ten

Hi.
I want to talk about how I love English in general. All my life in school I really enjoyed this subject and I had great scores all the time. I think it was my mum who influenced me in this because she always sang to me in English and the artist she liked I liked them too. I remember when she told about The police, Heart, Sting, but the most important was Pink Floyd. She showed me the greatest ‘The wall’ and I remember that like a big success in my childhood.
Besides, I really like the cinema and watching movies, and the most of them are in English language. I have to confess that I don´t understand how people can watch movies with another voices and not in their original language. I think that all the special magic of the movie get lost. Maybe ‘kid’s movies’ I barely tolerate with Spanish voices.
Also with songs, I don’t know why but I feel especially attracted to English music. Maybe because I think the words and ideas can say better in English. For example, in real life, when I’m not sure about something that I want to tell, I always says in English. In some moments can be a little coward like when we say ‘I love u’ is less intense that in Spanish ajjajaja.
Anyway, I think this language is fundamental for our development as a professionals and human beings. As a professionals, the big offices in architecture are foreign, and ALL the software are in English, so it’s impossible to conceive our profession without learn and talk in this language. Now, as a human being, is so important to understand that we can open many doors only know a few words in English, but also allow us communicate with another person from different countries and expand our horizons.

It’s really nice to imagine a world when all we can communicate to each other’s.

Summer Holidays

Well, it’s funny because 1 month ago I was going to go Barcelona. Yes, that incredible city with beautiful architecture and amazing landscape. Also I was going to go to another countries like Italy or France. I spent a lot of time planning what I would do when I saw  Paris, the city of lights.
But, sadly, it’s over. The flight’s company cancelled our flight because they have a few problems with the prizes on internet. It’s not our fault, but it’s over L
So, I started to think to go to the south of Chile. I already know parts of that place, but this time I want to stay a lot of time in Chiloé. Also I want to go Austral Road, and know Torres del Paine.
Last summer my brother went to the south and told a lot of things about this place, so I’m very excited now.
Food? I think that is the second most important reason to travel. Every trip mean a lot of culinary experiences, and in the south, ‘curanto’ is a great chance to try something new.

Besides, I want to go visit my family too, in the country. I don’t know what we will do on vacations yet, but I only want to see them. This semester has been so hard. I only travel two times and I miss so much my mum and sister.

Special Talent?

Special talent? I don’t have one. But maybe, surfing could be. Ok, I’m not a professional, but every opportunity that I have, I take it. Obviously in Santiago I can’t, but every time when I travel to the beach I go with my wetsuit into the water. It’s a funny thing, because no one knows that I love this sport. Just some of my closest friends or my family have an idea how important surf is to me.

Well, surf is a beautiful chance to connect with nature and with yourself. It’s true that is an extreme sport because is dangerous if you don’t have the cautions, but in almost every beach in Chile you can find smalls surf schools when you can take lessons and learn. Maybe it could be a little expensive, but I promise it’s worth it.

I do this since I was 14, but in a more ‘professional’ way since 2013 when I bought my own wetsuit.
My favorite beach to do it is in Pichilemu, because it has the perfect waves for everyone. If you are an expert you could go to Punta de Lobos beach, fifteen minutes from Pichilemu. All the time there are great competitions of surf. Actually, Chile is considered a wonderful country to surf for women and men.

I love surf because teach you about to be fearless and trust in yourself. When I ride a wave it’s the perfect moment in my life: all is quiet, blue and I can feel the water under my feet.
If I don’t tell to everyone, it’s because there a lot prejudices about this sport and the reasons are wrong. Surf is a sport very involved with protect our environment, there are many organizations that spend a lot of energy trying to save our beaches because every time people wants to privatize them.

I hope to do this all my life, even when I get old or have a job.

INTERSTELLAR

Hi,
Today I will recommended you one of my favorite movie of all times: Interstellar by Christopher Nolan.
First, I think its necessary talk about this amazing director.
He is an English-American film director, screenwritter, producer, cinematographer and editor. He is one of the highest-grossing directors in history and among the most succesful and acclaimed filmmakers of the 21st century. Nolan’s films are rooted in philosophical, sociological and ethical concepts, exploring human morality, the construction of time, and the maleable nature of memory and personal identity.
His body of work is permeated by labyrinthine plots, nonlinear storytelling, temporal shifts , practical special effects and analogous relationships between visual language and narrative elements.
Some of him movies are Inception (another great GREAT movie), Batman (latest trilogy including The Dark Night, with Heath Ledger as the best ‘Joker’ in history), The Prestige, Memento and...Interstellar.
OK, in the film, a crew of astronauts travel though a wormhole in search of a new home for humanity. But, its impossible stay with this short phrase about the movie, because I think is about how love trascend all the limits and all the dimentions, and how we can percept our reality in one way but in another person is totally different.
Well, we could discuss a long time what is about the film, but the important is that is an a amazing (and such creative) vision about a nearly future, and how the humans developed to survive. I love how Nolan works the ‘silens’ in the film. He created the perfect atmosphere to take us to a travel for Space. Of Course we can’t forget the beautiful work in the music, by the one and only Hans Zimmer (if you don’t know him, I recommended that put on his name in google and wait and see..or listen , in this case).
Usually, when I work on nights for workshop, I listen all the soundtracks by Hans Zimmer, specially Interstellar and Inception because take my brain to a great places.

Well, I hope you see this wonderful movie, and I swear you will not regret it. Enjoy!

My dream job

Hello!

Wow it’s a hard question. Usually we think that our career is our future job or our dream job. But honestly, when I imagine all my life in an office working in a computer makes me sad. Today it’s really difficult find a great job because the market is already full but also I think that depends on you.

But ok, maybe my future job involves working in the beach, watching every day the sea and touching the sand. This things makes me feel happy when I think about them. In the past I dreamed with start my own restaurant with Hawaiian food or seafood. I remember when I was a child I love the movie ‘The 50 first dates’ because in there show a story about Hawaiians that fall in love in a restaurant, and all de the movie is about Hawaii. Maybe this sound kind of ridiculous but I really love stay in the beach, so obviously my job has to be in there. Ok, maybe not Hawaiian, but in any other beach its ok for me.

Please don’t think that I don’t love what I study, but I want more. For example, I dream to combine architecture and cinema. Maybe make some movies like Inception or Interstellar by Christopher Nolan... (L)

I want to eat the world (literally and metaphorically) and do all the things that my energy let me.
Also I like to travel a lot for Chile first, and then around the world, and known another cultures like Indian or Chinese and understand how they living and think.
I know, there is a lot of things that I want to do, but only I hope that never feel like ‘I’m sleeping’ because you only live once.

BELGIUM!

Its funny to answer that question because the country I’d like to visit has no important reason to me, apparently. When I was a child I always dreamed to visit Belgium, but honestly I don't know why. It was like one day I woke up and said “I want to go to Belgium” and I told to my mum and she ask me why and I didn’t have an answer.
But now, searching, I realized that Belgium its an amazing country. There is a web site (visitbelgium.com) that says ‘Why Belgium? And they say: Castle&Gardens,Beer Lovers, Fashion, Chocolate Lovers, Young and Hips, Family, Festivals, Green Belgium.. and wow. Seems like the perfect place from me.
Well I have to confess since I was 6 my parents gave me ‘Pascualina’s diary’ and she always went to a different countries and I remember she once went to Bruges and I said ‘oh what? What is Bruges? That even exist? ' and there grew my love for Belgium. I know this sound a little stupid but was a great discover. Bruges is the capital and largest city of province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country. Its a very mysterious city with great programs of culture and arts. Another interest thing is their architecture or their festivals. (please we can’t forget that TOMORROWLAND is in Belgium).
Their landscapes are absolutely beautiful so either their culture.
Well, I think I always thought about Belgium like a place to live..like forever. Yes, I know that sounds like I am crazy but I don't know..isn’t life an adventure? :)
